✴︎ bringing homes to life with color

Buying or selling a home is a significant milestone- but let’s be honest, it can also be a waiting game. In the dynamic world of real estate, where deals are closed and dreams are realized, one crucial element often gets overlooked: the small humans in tow. While adults navigate contracts and negotiations, little ones often find themselves stuck in a world of paperwork and grown-up talk. RE/MAX offices needed a way to make their spaces more inviting for families, ensuring that young visitors felt just as welcome as their parents.

Together with the marketing department, we came out with this idea- RE/MAX coloring book: ‘Home Sweet Home’- a playful, brand-aligned solution designed to turn waiting time into creative time.

The challenge was clear: how to seamlessly integrate the RE/MAX brand experience with the playful world of childhood, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families navigating the complexities of home buying and selling. We sought to craft a tangible, tactile experience that would not only entertain but also subtly reinforce the core values of RE/MAX.

The real challenge lay in infusing the project with meaningful content that resonated with both RE/MAX‘s brand identity and the imaginative minds of children. I aimed to transcend the typical coloring book experience, transforming it into an interactive journey.

  • Child-friendly design: ensuring the design was not only kid-friendly but also reflected the professional aesthetic of the RE/MAX brand, creating a memorable and intuitive product.
  • Brand integration: seamlessly weaving RE/MAX‘s brand colors and iconic characters into the narrative without sacrificing the fun and engaging nature of the content.
  • Educational entertainment: balancing entertainment with educational elements, incorporating games like mazes, connect-the-dots, and nature-inspired puzzles to stimulate creativity and cognitive development.
  • Universal theme: developing a central theme- ‘Home Sweet Home’- that resonates universally, extending beyond the concept of a house to encompass the diverse habitats of all living beings, fostering empathy and understanding.

The ‘Home Sweet Home’ emerged as a meticulously designed solution that elegantly addresses the challenges outlined. This project transcends the conventional coloring book, functioning as a thoughtful tool for engagement and brand reinforcement.

The project theme provides a unifying narrative, subtly reinforcing the idea that RE/MAX is about more than just houses; it’s about creating homes for everyone. By providing a physical, interactive product, I created a memorable touchpoint, enhancing the client experience and fostering a sense of connection.

‘Home Sweet Home’ coloring book is more than a simple distraction; it’s a strategic design solution that transforms a potentially tedious experience into a moment of joy and creativity. It’s a testament to the power of thoughtful design in bridging the gap between brand and audience.

From treehouses to bird nests to cozy igloos, the book encourages children to explore the idea of ‘home’ beyond four walls. It features more than just coloring- interactive elements like mazes, connect-the-dots, and nature-inspired puzzles add depth and engagement. Paired with a set of crayons or markers, this book transforms waiting time into a moment of creativity and exploration.
