This striking 'About Me' banner features bioluminescent-style mushrooms or jellyfish-like forms illuminated against a deep navy background. The vibrant electric blue and orange creatures create an ethereal, almost otherworldly effect, complemented by three core values highlighted in circular callouts: truth, grit, and kindness. The elegant serif typography of 'About me' contrasts beautifully with the organic, glowing forms. This design communicates a blend of creativity, digital artistry, and my values- balancing technical skill with meaningful human connection.

I’m Alex – a curious multidisciplinary designer

UI/UX designer. Visual designer. Motion designer. Lifelong learner. Always curious.

Why a multidisciplinary designer?

Blame it on my relentless curiosity- the kind that asks why until it drives everyone crazy. My journey has been as diverse as my interests, driven by the belief that magic happens where disciplines collide- like art, aesthetics, and design.

I’ve been immersed in the arts since grade one, eventually earning a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Fashion, and two PhDs in visual arts. (Yes, I took the scenic route.) My career path? Equally colorful: a visual designer for a Swiss agency, a visual designer and ‘jack-of-all-trades’ for a B2B company, and a UI/UX designer for a global tech giant. I’m here to combine the best of all worlds: art, aesthetics, visual design, and user experience design- because great design should feel good and go beyond expectations.

With expertise gained across diverse environments- spanning agencies, B2B and B2C organizations- I’ve designed everything from web apps and complex enterprise systems to launching innovative products for new ventures. This journey has shaped me into a curious, adaptable, and ever-evolving UI/UX designer, ready to transform ideas into designs that work and get results.

Why work with me?

With a diverse portfolio and experience working across industries such as beauty, real estate, automotive, and medical, I bring a unique perspective to every project. My ability to adapt to different markets allows me to create user-centered designs tailored to a specific audience.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with some truly outstanding businesses and entrepreneurs over the years. Some of my successful collaborations include Curaden, Curaprox, RE/MAX, Tata Group, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, Lenovo, HP, HPE, HPI, Poly, Juniper Networks, NetApp, 8X8, IBM and Mercedes.

My background in art, a BA and MA in fashion, and 2 PhDs. in visual arts honed my eye for aesthetics and functionality. Studying various art and design fields sharpened my taste and gave me a holistic approach to design, helping me tackle diverse client challenges.

At the beginning of my career, I worked as a fashion designer and illustrator, and over the years continuing to work and deepen my knowledge of UI/UX, branding, and motion design.

I consider myself a life learner, and I enjoy absorbing new information and being inspired by everything that surrounds me. I am constantly up to date with new courses, tools, and cutting-edge technology.

Last but not least, my work ethic, solid collaborations, happy clients, and genuine passion for design are what I value most. It’s not just about making things look good- it’s about making them work and making them last.

Who am I when I’m not designing?

Introvert with a great passion and love for art, rare plants, and nature. I love foraging and animals- when I go hiking I make sure I always have a bag with food for stray cats and dogs. I also like rescuing plants from the ‘reduced price’ section of every store- I see potential where others see withered leaves.

On rainy days I gather snails from the pavement to avoid being trampled by hurried passengers. I love hiking and discovering new places. Mother nature can teach us so much about resiliency and inspires us in the most magical ways.

Me on a snowshoe hike, accompanied by a group of hikers. It was a snowy day on the subalpine plateau, the wind was blowing between 50 and 70 km/h. Everything was frozen. The sky was undecided, we were pretty determined.
